Gypsy Jazz Guitars Made in Canada

GRANDE BOUCHE GYPSY JAZZ GUITAR

MODÈLE VAGABOND

The Modèle Vagabond represents my modern approach to the classic Gypsy Jazz guitar. Built as a Grande Bouche instrument, it offers a wide, open voice with plenty of warmth and projection—ideal for traditional rhythm work as well as contemporary lead playing.

Its torrefied Sitka spruce top gives it the fast response and played-in character that Gypsy players gravitate toward. The Pau Ferro back and sides (often called Santos Rosewood) add clarity, sustain, and a bit more definition to the low end. Together, they create a voice that feels both familiar and refreshingly articulate.

A custom Hélio radial rosette surrounds the D-hole, pairing modern geometry with old-world handwork. The Tobacco Burst finish is applied and toned by hand, giving the guitar a quiet vintage elegance.

The long 670 mm scale length contributes to the Vagabond’s quick attack and driving projection, while the African mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard keep the playing feel smooth and stable. At the headstock, my Heritage Gold script appears—something I only bring back on builds that connect closely with earlier inspirations.

Traditional open-gear tuners, a polished brass DR Dell Arte tailpiece, and an ebonized rosewood bridge round out the instrument. The guitar ships with a fitted hardshell case.

PETITE BOUCHE GYPSY JAZZ GUITAR

MODÈLE NOMADE

The Modèle Nomade represents my interpretation of the classic Selmer-style Petite Bouche Gypsy Jazz guitar. Built with a smaller oval soundhole, it delivers a focused, immediate voice with strong midrange presence and crisp articulation—ideal for driving rhythm work, expressive lead playing, and nuanced acoustic performance.

Its solid Sinker Redwood top provides a rich, responsive character with warm fundamentals and complex overtones, offering the quick attack Gypsy players seek while maintaining depth and sustain. The Ziricote back and sides add a powerful low-end foundation along with shimmering harmonic complexity, giving the guitar both projection and tonal sophistication. Together, they create a voice that feels lively, balanced, and deeply musical.

A custom rosette frames the petite bouche soundhole, blending refined geometry with traditional hand-crafted detail. The finish is applied and tuned by hand, allowing the natural beauty of the tonewoods to speak while enhancing resonance and visual depth.

The extended 670 mm scale length reinforces the Nomade’s fast response and dynamic range, while the mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide a smooth, stable playing feel across the fingerboard. Subtle design details throughout reflect a balance of tradition and modern craftsmanship.

Premium open-gear tuners, a polished brass Selmer-style tailpiece, and an ebony bridge complete the instrument’s hardware package. This guitar ships with an upgraded Hiscox hardshell case for exceptional protection and long-term durability.
